Uttarkhand is called the Devbhumi – meaning land of gods because of the volume of Hindu temples it hosts. Also this an untouched part of the Himalayas which forms the source of the two main rivers – the Ganges and the Yamuna. The state basically has two primary regions – Kumaon and Gharwal that are populated by a mesmerizing variety of Flora and Fauna. Uttarakhand has forest cover for nearly 60% of the total land area.
